DRIVING DIRECTIONS:

From the airport, take the main road into Centro.  Go through central and across the bridge, over The Real Cuale River.  After the bridge, you will be on Ignacio Vallarta.  Go straight until you come to Basillo Badilo.  Turn left and go to the stoplight and turn right.  This is the road that goes to Mismaloya & Boca de Tomatlan; it is called Carretera de Barra de Navidad “Mexico 200”. Approximately 1/2 block from this turn will be a Pemex gas station on right-hand side. Continue on, it will take you approximately 8 minutes to reach the house, you will be heading south, the road has many curves.  There are several side-roads that are unmarked. Keep going south past Playa Conchas Chinas, past Punta Negra. Also, pass the ‘YOU ARE NOW LEAVING PUERTO VALLARTA SIGN’. Immediately after this sign you will see a group of homes on the water side. Casa Corazon is the house right before the Palo Maria Bridge and there is a sign in the driveway which say’s CASA CORAZON Km 6.9.

1. ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS: When you arrive at the Puerto Vallarta airport, take the airport taxi to Casa Corazon.  The address is Km 6.9/7 in Garza Blanca in front of the Palo Maria River Bridge.  The turn off for Casa Corazon is approximately 8 minutes from the last Pemex Station on the highway  (the highway which runs south) Carretera de Barra de Navidad . (If for any reason you need to call the house for directions call 228-0505). Leave your bags at the gate and ring the front door bell for the houseman, Jorge, who will help you with your luggage and bring you a nice cold margarita.

2. PHONE AND INTERNET:  The house telephone is 228-0505, as dialed from Vallarta . To dial from the States, call 011-52(322)228-0505.  Local calls are free. The house has Wireless Internet.

3. POOL: If you want the pool temperature higher or lower, tell the houseman; he will make the adjustments.  Please use the beach towels rather than room towels.  We request that you use plastic glassware around the pool.

4. LIGHTS: All outdoor lights are on timers and so you do not need to control them. The will come on automatically. The inside lights are controlled at your convenience.

5. SECURITY: Both the upper and beach entrance doors should be kept locked.  The Master Bedroom has a safe with a key.

6. WATER: Although Puerto Vallarta’s water is supposed to be potable, Casa Corazon always has bottled water in the kitchen and a purified water spout system attached to the kitchen sink  You will find a small brown bottle of Microdyn by the sink in the kitchen (or available in supermarkets).  Soak any fruit or vegetable, to be eaten raw or unpeeled, in a sink filled with water and 6 drops of Microdyn for 15 minutes.  (Allow 1 drop of Microdyn for each quart or liter of water.)  We eat lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, etc. with no problem, but USE THE MICRODYN, everyone does.

7. EMPLOYEES: The Villa staff consists of the houseman, Jorge, his wife Gloria the maid, and two Gourmet Cooks.  Only Jorge speaks English, but the rest of the staff understands a few words.  A little Spanish and sign language on your part works pretty well.  The Chef prepares two meals a day: breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner.  She will help you plan your menus.  We suggest giving Jorge $200.00 US on arrival for initial groceries.  He will keep track of your bills and come to you when more money is needed.    The maid work just for you and can help with your personal laundry if desired.

If the cook stays past 8:00 PM, she will need taxi money to get home.  The busses do not run at this hour.

Jorge, the houseman, will collect this from the guest.  It is generally around $10.

Sunday is the regular day off for the staff (except for light maid service).  If you would like to have the cook, houseman or additional maid service on Sunday, this can be arranged but requires an additional charge to be paid in advance.  Please advise  Jorge, the houseman, cell phone 044(322)146-1321 or Call the Manager Janel Hartwel 001-480-686-1521(an Arizona cellphone).

8. SOUND: There is a stereo in the dining room for Cd’s.

9. Satelite T.V. There are three Dish Satelite televisions with DVD players. A basket of Movies are under the Television in the Living room.  Or, bring those films you have been wanting to see.  Puerto Vallarta also has many video stores and most tapes are in English with Spanish subtitles.

WARNING:  You can not receive pay for view programs and can badly damage the satellite system if you try.

10. AIR CONDITIONING:  All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned. The air conditioners are operated by remote control.  Simply push the on/off button.  The other buttons are pre-set to work satisfactorily. You should close the door to the bathroom and close the shutters tightly.

11. TIPPING:  We are frequently asked how much to tip and have established a guideline that may be of help to you.  $10.00 - $12.00 US per person in your party per day seems to be the average.  This tip would be divided among the entire staff.  Most people find it is best to put the entire tip in an envelope and give it to the houseman to distribute.

12. FOOD: Puerto Vallarta has, literally, dozens of wonderful restaurants, ranging from very inexpensive to the very gourmet.  If you would like to know our favorites, refer to the restaurant guide in the guest information binder. If you have special dietary requirements, please advise us through your rental agent in advance so we can be prepared.

13. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: On this side of town, there are two private medical clinics with emergency service:  CMQ (tel. 223-1919) and Medasist (223-0444 or 223-0656).  If you are out near the Marina, there is a new clinic called Amerimed at Plaza Neptuno (221-0023, 221-0024) and San Javier Marina (226-1000).  And, of course, there is the Mexican Red Cross (222-1533).  For an English speaking doctor who makes house calls, call Alphonso Rodriguez’s cell phone: 044(322)227-2464, 222-1010, 223-1266.  For a complete list of emergency numbers, please see the phone number lists at the front of the guest information book at the house.

PLEASE NOTE: during the rainy season please be careful of the following- Slippery floors and power surges that play havoc on the electrical which effect the Internet, phone lines and a/c.  Often times these outages can disturb the above for days.  We apologize but we are at the mercy of these things which are beyond our control.
